Bachelor's theses

As part of your bachelor's thesis at our institute, you will independently carry out a scientific study. We supervise topics in the area of ​​innovation economics and behavioral economics. We ask you to choose are search questions within these subject areas. To get the most out of writing your thesis, you should carefully consider the research question and research method for your bachelor's thesis before the first appointment takes place. Choose a question that you are passionate about and/or that is relevant to your future career. The methods we supervise include experimental studies, survey experiments, analysis of field data or game theory. If possible, this topic will be fleshed out at a first joint meeting.

Order of events

  1. We strongly recommend that you take the seminar in innovation economics in advance.
  2. Assignment: Assignment is typically organized by the central process. Bachelor's theses outside this process (e.g. WiIngs or second attempts) can be accepted on an ongoing basis.
  3. First contact: After assignment, or outside of the award process, please contact Ms. Stoczek (stoczek@inec.uni-hannover.de). Ideally, in this email you should mention your preferred research question and research method.
  4. Topic selection: During an appointment, we will discuss whether the selected research question is appropriate to the purpose of the examination and can be processed within the examination period. If necessary, changes will be made.
  5. Presentation: Approximately two to three weeks before submitting your bachelor's thesis, you will provide a presentation of your previous results and receive feedback that will help improve your work.
  6. Submission: Your completed bachelor's thesis should be between 15 and 25 pages. Please pay attention to our requirements and hints (see below) and the checklist of the study dean’s office (PDF).
