Objectives Students are able to identify and analyze ethical challenges in economic transactions and behavior.
Prerequisites Knowledge in empirical economics and English language skills
Introductory course to academic research Strongly recommended: "Theoretische Übung: Einführung in das wissenschaftliche Arbeiten am Institut für Gesundheitsökonomie (SoSe 2025)” (translation: “Introduction to Scientific Work at the Institute of Health Economics"); event in German, event dates and documents for self-study in English language available on the StudIP page of respective course

Topics

Students will have access to the topics after the registration period and have from 1st April (7 PM) to 11th April 2025 (7 PM) to communicate their topic preferences. A preliminary overview can be found here.

Please send a minimum of three topic preferences with a clear hierarchal order to the following email address: to be determined.

Initial registration Participation in the seminar requires the registration via StudIP from 31th of Match (midday) until April 11th (see details below).
Process Schedule
Initial registration / application

March 31th from 12:00 (midday) until April 11th until 12:00 (midday)

Registration will be possible in StudIP during the registration period.

 (a maximum of 20 students, 5 students on waiting list; first come, first serve)
Initial discussion / topic discussion / kick-off meeting

Kick-off meeting: Calendar week 16 (April 23 at 11:15am)

Calendar week 19: individual appointments with supervisor to discuss topic/paper

Commencement of seminar paper

Submission of seminar paper June 25th until midnight
Submission of presentation Day before presentation at noon.
Presentation Ca. 3 weeks before submission of seminar paper (May 27 and May 28). 15 minutes presentation and 10-15 minutes discussion per topic.
